Honoring our Native American Heritage
Take a step back in time, into the magical world of early American tribal culture. Where the magical beauty of our people believed that Mother Earth gave and sustained, blessed by the power of the elements, and honor was always in one's heart.
Here's honoring the craft of the hands of modern artisans, who in return honor the old ways and the ones who've come before.
We are all connected. ONE breath, ONE heart beat, ONE world, ONE Tribe.

Our ancestors believed that our history was recored in STONE and in BONE.
You may think not, but take a really good look around, in caves we drew pictures, on stone we wrote our marks as words, and our BONES, our kupunas said records all our lineage. In our time this might not be completely understood, but they would say, if you listen, you will hear the voices of your ancestors, they live in you. In your heart, written for every in your bones, recorded for all the universe to see. It's magical. It's coded, it's your DNA.
RE~MEMBER WHO YOU ARE, THAN YOU'LL RE~MEMBER WHY YOU CAME, AND WHERE FROM.

The Lanquage of Color...Red Black White Etsy Treasury collection By Stone & Bone
The romance continues, blood red, jet black, and ivory shades of white, the never ending TANGO of iconic color trends continues.
This threesome of power colors, have a cultural history as well. In native cultures, these colors were reserved for only the highest in rank of the tribe, like the king queen, chief or chiefest. Each culture or tribe had significant symbolic meaning for each color, such as RED ~ blood, life, immortality, Black ~ death, life, unknown, womb, earth, creativity White ~ light, purity, enlightenment. AS well as the the representing the compass directional points. They are also known as healing colors by the shamans and medicine people, used to help in ailments of the people.
We take our colors for granted, but ask yourself, why are you drawn to certain colors? Why do you feel the connection to certain hues, what's your mood in when you wear these colors? Chances are you never think of these things. But in tribal cultures of old as well as today, colors are still very significant in their everyday life.
In modern culture we call it COLOR THERAPY. The use of color to heal the mind, body and spirit.
Next time you go shopping, remember this little snip it of a post, and see what draws you, take note of the colors that's in your closet, and may be you'll get an insight to your world.

Carved Elegance, Tribal Symbolism in Bone
Stone & Bone is proud to present one of our most favorite collection. Tribal Symbolism in Carved Bone, showcases our native inspired dangle earrings, hand pounded and wire wrapped in copper and accented with chains, giving each piece a rustic and metal age feeling, yet still keeping with our chic style.
We also love the beautifully and powerful tribal and universal symbols that has survived over the ages, and into our today's art world, architecture , and technological lingo. We find it truly amazing to see how each mega symbol has lasted the test of time. Most have been handed down through generations and history, each meaning something different to each culture, and yet still have it's similarities, depending on how each is portrayed to it's demographic audience and tribal beliefs.
Even in today's techno world, these organic symbols still have it's own powerful meaning. Used in science to describe chemical compounds, or in the music scene as artistic power sources of inspiration, in business marketing as logos, and in medicine, the list goes on. And they will continue to go on, with whatever meaning our world at the time will allow it or need them to.
Whatever they may mean to you and our customers, is what each symbol inspires and conjures in the individual. What ever the source of power, it's what it stirs in you. So we suggest that when looking at each piece let your subconscious do the talking, and let the heart be drawn to whatever it is you truly desire.
The Bones never lie.
